Appointment waiting list for all national visas EXCEPT family reunification to persons entitled to protection (Sections 22 to 26 of the German Residence Act)

Hello,

on the next pages you can register on a waiting list for an appointment in order to apply for a national visa (i.e. for a stay of more than 90 days) for all categories except vocational training (Section 16a of the German Residence Act), studies (Section 16b of the German Residence Act), measures regarding the recognition of foreign professional qualifications (Section 16d of the German Residence Act) and research and science (Section 18d and 19c (in accordance with Section 5 of the Ordinance on the Employment of Foreigners) of the German Residence Act). If you want to apply for the family reunification to a recognized refugee, asylum seeker, person entitled to subsidiary protection or a person with another residence permit granted for reasons of humanitarian grounds (Sections 22 to 26 of the German Residence Act), then please register on the respective waiting list.

The receipt of national visa applications in the categories of vocational training (Section 16a of the German Residence Act), studies (Section 16b of the German Residence Act), measures regarding the recognition of foreign professional qualifications (Section 16d of the German Residence Act) and research and science (Section 18d and 19c (in accordance with Section 5 of the Ordinance on the Employment of Foreigners) of the German Residence Act) has been outsourced to the external service provider TLScontact.

If your registration was succesful, you will receive a confirmation email with your reference number. As soon as your appointment was allocated you will receive a second email (appointment email) containing further details about date and time of your appointment. This email will include two links, one to confirm the appointment, and one to cancel it. The waiting time until an appointment is notified is currently as follows, sorted by purpose of stay:

- Family reunification: five months

- Skilled workers with vocational training or university degree including EU Blue Card [Section 18a or 18b or 18g of the Residence Act]: two weeks

- Fast-track procedure for skilled workers (Section 81a of the Residence Act): one week

- Job search opportunity card: due to high demand, we expect a build-up of long waiting times

- Internship or training programme: three months

- "Isolated" language course (NOT in preparation for studies or vocational training or measures regarding the recognition of foreign professional qualifications): six months

- Au pair: over a year

- Voluntary service: over a year

- Employment for religious or charitable reasons: three months

- Other employment (e.g. personnel on passenger ships or  specialty cooks etc.): six weeks

- Re-entry: six weeks

Appointments will be allocated chronologically. While entering your data, please note the following:

  • Each applicant over 18 years must have a separate booking. Underage children only need an appointment if they travel alone.
  • When registering, please select the number of people who are going to visit the Visa Section under "number of visitors" (e.g. husband + 2 children = 3 visitors). Entry can only be granted to spouses and/or minor children who are applying together for family reunion. Please also enter the names of your spouse and/or minor children in the respective box.
  • All information must be entered in Latin letters.
  • Please enter all your data correctly and without any mistakes, as you will only be admitted to the Visa Section of the Embassy if your name and passport number as entered in your passport exactly match the information provided in your registration.
  • Please make sure to mention the correct purpose of stay. The Visa Section will not accept your application if you intend to stay in Germany for another purpose than the one mentioned by you in our appointment system (e.g. you want to work in Germany as au pair but mention that you are a skilled worker).
  • If your employer in Germany applied for a fast-tracked procedure for skilled workers according to section 81a of the German Residence Act and the competent foreigners authority agreed in advance to granting the visa, then please select "fast-track procedure for skilled workers" as purpose of stay. You will receive an appointment within three weeks then.
  • Your passport number must be entered in capital letters and numbers, as mentioned in your passport.

Please make sure to enter your email address correctly; otherwise you will receive neither a confirmation email nor an appointment! If the confirmation email is not in your inbox, please check whether it has been sent to your spam/junk folder.
