IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING VISA APPOINTMENTS
The Consulate has changed the procedure for booking appointments for Schengen and long term visas (except opportunity card/Chancenkarte). Appointments for opportunity card/Chancenkarte can still be booked directly through our appointment allocation systems.
In future you will first register on a waiting list and in a second step your appointment will be allocated at a later date by the consulate in chronological order of registrations based
Please note: You do not need to use an agent to register on the waiting list! Registration on the waiting list is free of charge!
You are about to make an online registration for applying for a Schengen visa (category C) or Airport Transit visa (category A) at the German Consulate General Karachi.
Before registering an appointment online
- please first read the German Mission's "Important Note to our Visitors" and "Visa: General Information"
- please be sure for what kind of visa you want to apply :
- Short term / Schengen visa
- Long term / national visa (stays exceeding 90 days)
Registering an appointment can be done fast and conveniently by yourself. This service is offered free of any charge. If desired, a registration can also be made by a trusted third party (e.g. the person inviting you or your business partner in Germany etc.).
The Consulate General Karachi is exclusively responsible for applicants with residence in Sindh and Balochistan. Applicants living in other regions of Pakistan need to book their appointment using the Islamabad Embassy’s appointment system (https://service2.diplo.de/rktermin/extern/choose_realmList.do?locationCode=isla&realmId=108). Applicants living in Afghanistan must book the appointment via the website of the German Embassy in Kabul (https://afghanistan.diplo.de/af-de).
Please remember that you cannot use your appointment for a different visa category. If you wish to apply for a different visa category than a Schengen visa, your appointment will be forfeit.
SCHENGEN VISAS
Pakistani citizens have to obtain a visa before entering the so-called "Schengen states". Schengen visas are short-term visas for stays up to 90 days within a period of 180 days.
Please note that although visas issued by one of the above mentioned Schengen member states are valid for all other Schengen states, you need to apply at the embassy or consulate of the country which is your main destination. The main destination is the country of your longest stay. If your main destination cannot be clearly determined, the country of your first entry to the Schengen states will be competent to handle your application.
AIRPORT TRANSIT VISAS
As a Pakistani national you require an airport transit visa (that is a visa for a stay within the transit area of an airport, not leaving the airport). For possible exemptions please see Article 3 of the Visacodex.
Please note that a general 24/7 stay in airport transit areas is only possible at the airports in Frankfurt/Main (FRA) and Munich (MUC). It is your resposibility to check well ahead of your trip if your transfer airport has a transit area that is open during your transfer time and if a stay in the transit area of your transfer airport will be therefore be possible or if you need a Schengen Visa.
However, as a Pakistani national you do not require an airport transit visa if you have a permanent residence permit for Andorra, Canada, Ireland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, UK, Vatican or the United States of America.
Further information on Schengen and Airport Transit Visa applications can be found on our website at www.pakistan.diplo.de/visa
Please note that you can see vacant appointment dates in the calender view, where you can select and book the desired appointment (either the earliest one or at a later time/date of your own choice). You have to choose a date and a timeframe (e.g. from 09:00 to 09:30 am). It is not possible to get earlier appointments than shown online. Appointments can be booked up to 6 months before the intended travel date. Please cancel your visa appointment as soon as you know that you are not going to use it! No-shows will be monitored and if necessary registered.
Please appear at the Mission on time at the beginning of your timeframe (e.g. latest at 9:00 am for a timeframe from 9:00 to 09:30 am). Otherwise entry cannot be granted in order to avoid longer waiting times for the other customers.
Each applicant (including children) needs a separate regsistration. Group registrations are not possible.
You have to enter your correct PASSPORT NUMBER (consisting of 2 letters and 7 digits in a Pakistani passport). Otherwise, entry will not be granted.
Registrations with wrong data (e.g. incorrect passport number) will be deleted.
Please also double-check that you enter your correct email address in the registration process. You need the email-confirmation in case you want to cancel you booking. If you do not state your correct email address and do not receive a confirmation, the next booking will only be possible after waiting for two weeks.
