Appointments for Schengen Visa (Special Groups, formerly "walk-in")

The following persons can book an appointment for a short stay in the Schengen area (up to 90 days) in this category:

  • Frequent travellers who want to travel for business to Germany; frequent travellers are applicants who have had two (2) Schengen visas within the last three (3) years or one (1) Schengen visa with a minimum validity of one (1) year within the last three (3) years or one (1) Schengen and one (1) visa from UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Japan, Australia or New Zealand in the last three (3) years; the previous visas must have been used
  • Travellers with an invitation/scholarship from the German Government, GIZ, KfW, DAAD, KAAD, or a German Political Foundation
  • Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders
  • Travellers on behalf of the Ghanaian/Liberian/Sierra Leonean Government (Note Verbale of the respective Ministry of Foreign Affairs required!)
  • Travellers for urgent medical treatment 
  • Travellers fod funerals (members of core family)
  • Spouses of EU nationals and parents of minor EU nationals (for visits only!)
  • Delegates and speakers of UN conferences in Germany (not participants or observers)
  • Employees of German companies, both registered in Germany and Ghana travelling on official business

 

Groups of five or more applicants are not eligble and have to book an appointment in the group category (please go back to the category overview!)

 

To book an appointment you need your passport and an email address.

 

You will receive a booking confirmation via email once you successfully booked an appointment. Please bring a printout of your booking confirmation on the day of your appointment.

On the day of your appointment the Embassy will crosscheck the information you provided on the appointment booking system (name and passport number) with your passport. You will not be allowed to hand in your application if the information does not match.

You can submit your visa application up to 6 months before your intended departure. Processing time for Schengen Visa applications at the German Embassy Accra is 14 days.
