Information for clients in urgent need of notarisation of signatures (e.g. for certificates of good conduct, declarations of inheritance, declarations of authorisation):
Signatures can also be certified by notaries public in the Netherlands and, in a few exceptional cases, by your local municipality in the Netherlands. Please check beforehand whether a foreign authority is allowed to certify and whether an apostille is required. If so, you can obtain an apostille from the Dutch authorities by contacting your Dutch notary public's office.
In Germany, you can also go to a notary's office (close to the border) to have your signature certified. In this case, no apostille is required.
Information for clients who urgently need a notarisation of copies:
Authentication of copies can be carried out not only by consular officers at the Consulate General, but also by German or Dutch municipal authorities or by German or Dutch notaries public. Only the office for which you need the certified documents can inform you of the conditions under which a certification by a Dutch municipality or a Dutch notary can be accepted.
We thank you for your understanding.
