If no free appointments are displayed, all appointments are temporarily booked. Further appointments are always released on Fridays.

• Book the appointment in the name of the person making the application.
• Each person requires a separate appointment for each application.

After booking an appointment, you will receive a booking confirmation to the e-mail address you have provided. This may take a few minutes. Please be patient and do not book a new appointment immediately. Please also check your spam filter.

If you do not receive a confirmation e-mail, your appointment booking was not successful.

Please note that only complete applications can be accepted and please check the information on our website to ensure that you can present all the necessary documents at the appointment.

The German Embassy in Athens is only responsible for issuing an identity document if you live in the embassy's administrative / consular district (Attica, Ionian Islands, Crete, Central Greece, Northern Aegean, Peloponnese, Southern Aegean, Western Greece) and are no longer registered in Germany. Higher fees apply for applicants outside of this administrative / consular district.

Applications for underage children: All legal guardians must consent to the issuing of an identity document for an underage child. As a rule, both parents and the child must be present to submit the application. From the age of 16, an identity card can be applied for without parental consent.
