To have your signature on a document authenticated you need an appointment, which you can book in this category. Typical examples of documents that require an authentication of your signature are:

• declaration of renouncement of succession
• application for a police certificate of good conduct
• power of attorney or declaration of consent for German real estate contract
• registration of trade matters in the German commercial register
• application for a certificate of non-impediment to marriage 

Appointments are free of charge and can also be booked by third parties. However, at the booked appointment your personal appearance at the Budapest Embassy is required in order to have your signature authenticated.

If you book an appointment in the wrong category, you may be rejected, even if you had to travel long distances.
