Dear Applicant,

on the following pages you can register for the later allocation of an appointment to apply for a visa for study purposes in Germany for stays exceeding 90 days.

The procedure from the registration on the appointment list to the allocation of the appointment is as follows

1. After successful registration you will receive a confirmation of the successful completion of the registration. Please check whether you have received this confirmation e-mail with a reference number. It can take up to 30 minutes until you receive this mail.
2. The German Embassy Colombo will inform you as soon as possible about your binding appointment for the visa application at the embassy. With this e-mail you will also receive a cancellation link. You will receive notification of the date and time of the appointment approximately 14 days before your appointment. 

Please note the following:

• Due to the high demand, there is a certain waiting time. You can find the current waiting time on the Embassy's website. Appointments will be allocated according to the order of registration. Students with a scholarship from a German institution, doctoral and master's students will be given preference when assigning appointments.
• The intended type of study will be checked before admission to the visa section. If the intended type of study does not correspond to the intended type of study stated at the time of appointment registration, access to the visa office will be denied.
• Please register for the intended type of study, even if you have not yet received a letter of admission. For example, if you intend to pursue a Master's degree course in Germany, please register with the priority "Master with Admission" and not "no priority". The notification of admission must be submitted with the application.

Please note the following when entering your data:

• All entries must be in Latin letters only.
• It is essential that you enter your data correctly and without errors, as you will only be admitted to the visa office if the name and passport number in your passport match exactly with the information you entered during registration.
• Your passport number must be entered using capital letters and numbers, e.g. N5120391.

Please make sure that you enter your e-mail address correctly, otherwise you will not receive a confirmation of your registration and subsequently no appointment confirmation! If necessary, check whether these can be found in your spam/junk folder.
