Currently there is a waiting period for regular bachelor/master student visa appointments of at least 19 months. For example, if you have registered for an appointment in April 2023, you will receive an appointment confirmation approx. by November 2024 for an appointment at the earliest in December 2024. Do not register if your university has not granted you an extension of enrollment period.  Examinations or enrollment deadlines cannot be taken into consideration by the Embassy, due to high number of applications under similar conditions.

Regular bachelor and master students should note that due to current COVID restrictions the Embassy might request you to submit your documents (including blocked account with money credited) within one week shortly prior to your actual appointment (keeping the above mentioned waiting time in mind) in order to streamline the interview process as only complete applications have a chance of success. 

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

on the following pages you can register to apply for a student visa / holders of scholarships or scientists.

After your successful registration you will receive the following emails:

1.   Within one hour, you will receive a confirmation email with your reference number, and

2.   shortly before the appointment you might be requested to submit your complete documents electronically ( we will give you a strict  deadline of 7 days once we contact you)  and then, you will receive a second email (appointment email) containing further details about the date and time of your allocated appointment.

After registering for an appointment, please check your email inbox for the confirmation email which will include your reference number. This confirmation email also contains a cancellation link.

While entering your data, please note the following:

• All information must be entered in Latin letters.
• Please enter all your data correctly and without any mistakes, as you will only be admitted to the Visa Section of the Embassy if your name and passport number exactly match the information in our system.
• Your passport number must be entered in capital letters and numbers, e.g. BY123405. The passport number can be found on the upper right corner of the bio data page of your passport.
• Please make sure to enter your email address correctly (example: name@domain.com, no www in front of the email address!), otherwise you will receive neither the confirmation email nor the appointment email! If you haven't received the confirmation email, please check your spam/junk folder.
• Your appointment request will not be considered if you provide inconclusive details (e.g. stating that you apply for student visa for a Bachelor course, while also stating that you apply for a student visa for a Master course).
• Details once entered cannot be changed.

Note that the Embassy does no longer replies to queries for earlier appointments or change of appointment dates. Double registrations/bookings lead to the cancellation of all appointments.

———  Please note the following definitions while registering for an appointment  ———

Students are those,  who intend to  pursue a full time bachelor or master course  as well as those, who will attend a full time study related preparatory language course at a German University/language institute. Furthermore, those applicants, intending to take part in a prep-course, a so called “Studienkolleg”, are belonging as well to the category of students.

Note: Those applicants, wishing to pursue an independent language course (which is not related to a university admission) will have to apply through the regular national visa category.

Scholarship holders are only those who receive a monthly scholarship from a Government Authority or International Organisation. Applicants having been granted a scholarship from the  German University related only to  a reduction of tuition fees do not qualify for this option of the check box “scholarship holders”. You will be contacted after approx. 8-10 weeks to relevant proof, before receiving an appointment soon after.

PhD Students may only select the check box if they are able to provide relevant evidence (confirmation of PhD studies in Germany).  You will be contacted after approx. 8-10 weeks to relevant proof, before receiving an appointment soon after.

Scientists may only select the check box if they are able to provide relevant evidence (contract or offer letter) from a German Research Organisation or University confirming the status of a full time scientist.  You will be contacted approx 8-10 weeks to relevant proof, before receiving an appointment soon after.

The Embassy regrets to inform you  that appointment (registrations) have to be cancelled if incorrect details are provided. In case an applicant is not able to prove  that he is belonging to the a.m. category he will not be able to hand in his application and will consequently have to register for a fresh appointment.
