Because of the ongoing pandemic please only book an appointment in an urgent matter, e.g. if your German passport expires in a few months or you need to travel urgently. 

 

Please select a convenient time and date for your appointment for a passport (temporary, biometric, for children) and/or ID card in the overview (e.g. 09.00 to 09.30 am on Monday). Please note that no other appointments than those shown here can be made by e-mail or telephone. 

Please only book an appointment at the Consulate General in Edinburgh if you live in Scotland or the following counties in northern England: Cleveland and Redcar, Cumbria, Darlington, Durham, Hartlepool, Middlesborough, Northumberland, Stockton on Tees, Tyne and Wear (Tyneside) as well as North Yorkshire without Selby and York.

If you wish to apply for more than one person, you will need to book an appointment for each person.

Please bring the required forms, documents and copies to your appointment. Information can be found on our website.

Should you be more than five minutes late for your confirmed appointment, your application will not be accepted and you will have to book a new appointment.

 

Information in connection with the coronavirus (COVID-19):

• In order to minimise the risk of infection, please come to your appointment only if you and all members of your household are healthy and are not in self-isolation or quarantine.
• The team of the Consulate General will be separated from you by a glass screen; the documents will be handed in through a drawer.
• You will have to wear a face mask in the building; if you wish you can also use gloves. Both need to be removed briefly for identification and when giving your fingerprints.
• Only those persons whose presence at the appointment is absolutely necessary may enter the building. Please do not bring any other accompanying persons with you.
• If current developments make it necessary, we reserve the right to cancel appointments at short notice and reduce the number of available time slots.
