Schengen visa - 90 days or less

Application for a Schengen visa for 90 days or less at the visa section Afghanistan in Islamabad

For details on the workflow, please refer to the website of the German Embassy Kabul.

You can apply for a Schengen visa for the following purposes:

  • Business travel or trade exhibitions
  • Private visits or tourism
  • Medical treatments

Required documents regardless of travel purpose:

  • Passport valid for a maximum of 10 years total and a minimum of 3 months after the intended return date. Passport must have two consecutive empty pages.
  • Flight reservations (no final booking required)
  • Completed original application form with signature
  • 2 biometric passport photos
  • Identity documents (tazkira or e-tazkira)
  • Travel insurance for intended travel dates, minimum coverage of 30.000 Euro including return trave in case of sickness
  • If applicable: Proof of ongoing employment in form of contract indicating duration, function and in income. Also non-objection letter for vacation/absence
  • If applicable: proof of family ties, e.g. marriage certificate, tazkira of spouse and/or children
  • Proof of sufficient financial resources: 6 months of account statements, proof of salary payments, proof of property ownership

The application fee of 90,- Euros has to be paid in cash in Pakistani Rupies (PKR) on submission of your application.

 

Business travel or trade exhibitions - additional required documents:

  • Valid trade license
  • Original invitation letter indicating intended stay duration, business reason. Also original of the commerical registry excerpt of the inviting company.
  • Declaration of commitment to pay all costs according to §§ 66-68 AufenthG
  • Proof of existing business relations with German companies (i.e. customs declarations, contracts)
  • If applicable: exhibition ticket including payment for tables etc.

Visit or tourism visa - additional required documents:

  • Invitation letter
  • Certified declaration of commitment, if insufficient financial means available
  • If applicable: non-objection letter of employer
  • For pupils or students traveling outside of vacation dates: non-objection letter from the school

Medical treatment - additional required documents:

  • Medical documents outlining the case history including detailed medical diagnosis
  • Treatment agreement from a German clinic or doctor
  • Proof of payment of costs or assumption of cost by third party
  • Letter from the Afghan health ministry confirming the medical state of the patient and a confirmation that the treatment cannot be performed by a clinic or doctor in Afghanistan

Please note:

All documents must be supplied in original in German or English translation plus one black-and-white copy.

The visa section will only accept complete applications. Any documents not in German or English must be translated.

Submission of modified or forged documents will automatically result in a rejection. In case of rejection, the application fee will not be refunded.

All application forms are supplied free of charge. Please do not pay any third parties for "updated" application forms. If you have been asked to do so, please inform the representative at the counter or contact visainfoafg@isla.diplo.de.

The above list of documents are minimum requirements. The embassy reserves the right to ask for further proof or documents.
