ATTENTION: This section is for German nationals only! You will be asked to enter a German passport or ID-number. It is allowed to enter one from a document, which has expired or from the next person which is involved. If you enter an Egyptian passport or ID-number the appointment will be cancelled. Before booking an appointment, please mind the following information:

For germans living in Egypt and who have deregistered themselves in Germany the German embassy in Cairo is the competent authority for the issuing of passports. Passports can generally only be applied for in person. If a passport is applied for for a minor, he/she and both parents have to appear in person for the application. This applies to chidlren of every age.

If you are still registered as a resident in Germany but have to apply in Cairo for a new passport in case of special circumstances, the embassy can issue the passport with an allowance by the competent authority in Germany. In this case a higher fee has to be paid.

Please fill out the application form completely where it is applicable and provide proof for every information stated in the application. Which information you have to fiull in and what kind of proof you have to present can be viewed on the embassy's website.
