On our website www.china.diplo.de you will find detailed information on applying for a German passport as well as a German identity card (information provided in German and Chinese; for other languages, kindly use a browser translation tool).
Please read the information compiled for you and prepare the necessary documents before making an appointment.

Please note that only applications from applicants residing in the official district of the Consulate General Canton can be accepted.
The district covers the provinces of Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan as well as the Guangxi Autonomous Region.

All applicants for a passport or identity card must appear in person.
Underage applicants must be accompanied by all guardians in person.

For better planning, please book a separate appointment for each administrative act.
For example, if you would like to apply for a passport and an identity card, please book two appointments.
No appointment needs to be booked for accompanying persons (parents, guardians, carers, etc.) who do not submit an application themselves.
