BEWARE OF COMMERCIAL VISA AGENCIES AND AVOID BECOMING A VICTIM OF A VISA SCAM

The visa section does not work with private brokers or agencies. These individuals and organizations are NOT able to secure appointments with us.                   

Application forms, checklists and appointments are provided free of charge.                                      

The Consulate General or the Embassy will never ask you to send payment in advance by check, money order, or wire transfer.                                 

Please fill out the application form yourself.  If you need help, make sure the person helping you is entering your true information. 

Avoid visa consultants who offer to improve your chances by adding false information to your application.  False information will disqualify you.

We do NOT work with consultants and they CANNOT improve your chances of being selected.

Please keep in mind: Official German government email addresses end in “.de” and any visa-related correspondence coming from an address that does not end with “.de” should be considered suspect.

You have to wait for an appointment approximately 4 weeks.

Dear Sir and Madam,

on the following pages you can register for an appointment to apply for a visa.

The Consulate will inform you about your final visa application as soon as possible.

After your successful registration you will receive two emails:

1. Within 120 minutes a confirmation email with your reference number.

2. Approximately 4 weeks prior to your appointment to apply for a visa you will receive a e-mail with the exact date of your appointment.

3. If you don't receive an appointment confirmation email prior to your mentioned date of the beginning of your studies your registration can no longer be considered. In this case please cancel your registration. Thank you!

All applicants who fulfill one of the following criteria can register with the "A-List":

• holding a letter of admission for PHD studies or
• holding a bachelor's degree with a grade of 1. Class issued no more than TWO years ago and having been accepted to a master's degree (also a DSH course-related admission to the master's program) or PhD study in Germany or
• holding a scholarship financed from German public funds or European supported funds for a study or a PhD in Germany or
• holding a signed “Aufnahmevereinbarung” / hosting agreement concerning your research fellowship with a university or research institute accepted by the “BAMF”

All other applicants need to register with the "B-list".

Important! One of those criteria you need to prove at your appointment in the Consulate. If you have applied for a priority appointment on the A-list without being able to prove any of these criteria, the application will be rejected immediately and without any further examination.

The General Consulate will only accept applications with fully funded blocked accounts OR original formal obligations OR a scholarship financed from German public funds or European supported funds.

Important notice! The following applies to all visa applications:

All boxes of the registration form have to be filled correctly. Appointment bookings with wrong or incorrect information will be cancelled.

The Consulate General does not offer appointments through agents, advisors or any other service provider. Do not waste your money and time with such intermediaries. We strongly recommend that you book your appointment yourself.
