Certification of Copies for University Applications in Germany

The German Missions in Nigeria certify copies of school documents for the purpose of applying for admission at a German university.

Please consider the following information:

  • You are allowed to present up to – 5 – application sets per appointment
  • Application sets should not be stapled
  • Each set has to be sorted in the same following order:

o    original application form (completed and duly signed)

o    copies of the academic documents (same order like the originals)

o    copy of your passport (data page)

  • Your original documents have to be presented and include:

o    passport

o    academic documents in original condition (same order like the copies).
Any type of copy of an original document (like soft copy) will not be accepted.

 

Important:

  • In case you have some documents that are printed front and back (e.g. WAEC Certificate), please make sure to copy both sides
  • In case you present a transcript of an academic record, please make sure that every page is stamped and signed by the university

 

 

Fees:

The certification of copies for University Applications in Germany is free of charge.

 

 

Opening of Student Account (Blocked Account) with Deutsche Bank

In order to open a blocked account with Deutsche Bank, you need to send an application to the bank in Germany. Your signature on the application form needs to be certified.

 

Please present:

1.             the filled application form for a blocked account

2.             international passport and two black and white copies of the data page (no color copy!); the same applies to the legal representatives of a minor

3.             admission letter of the German university and a copy thereof

4.             a prepaid envelope (from a private service provider such as FedEx, DHL or UPS to forward the application to Germany) addressed to “Deutsche Bank , Privat- und Geschäftskunden AG, Alter Wall 53, 20457 Hamburg, Germany “

5.             evidence of the source of your funds (e. g. bank statements)

 

You will have to sign the application form in presence of a Consular officer in order to have your signature certified. The same applies to the legal representatives of a minor.

 

The following fees will apply:

 

STUDENTS

LANGUAGE COURSE PARTICIPANTS

  • certification of signature: 56,43 €
  •  certification of signature: 56,43 €

 

  • certification of the copy of the passport data page: 23,22 €

= 56,43 €  

= 79,65 €  

 

The fees are payable in cash (only in NGN) at the Embassy in Abuja or at the Consulate General in Lagos and depend on the current exchange rate.

The German missions in Nigeria do only certify your signature on the application form. If you have any questions in respect of the opening/closing of the blocked account, please contact Deutsche Bank directly.

 

Please note:

It is highly recommended to open the blocked account as soon as the university admission letter is received.

To close your blocked account, no signature certification or other certification from the German Embassy/Consulate General is required. Please send your signed closing order, together with corresponding documents (such as refusal letter), directly to Deutsche Bank.
