Legalisations (signature certifications, copy certifications etc.)

 

Welcome to the legalisation section of the German Embassy!

 

On the following pages you can book an appointment for a legalisation or certification (“Beglaubigung”).

 

You require one appointment per matter. If you submit applications in citizenship matters, please book one appointment per max. two applications, two appointments per max. four applications etc. Applications can be submitted on behalf of someone else.

Please do not yet book an appointment in the following cases:

 

• Commercial register matters (Handelsregisterangelegenheiten)
• Signature certifications on powers of attorney
• Submitting a formal obligation (Verpflichtungserklärung)

 

Such documents have to be checked prior appointment booking. Please send them to beglaubigung@lond.diplo.de. After checks we will get back to you with all further information.

 

Due to the money laundering legislation, German missions are not allowed to certify signatures or conduct identity checks for the purpose of opening a bank account, taking out a loan, credit card applications, account authorisations and the like. Please ask your bank for further information.
