Residence permits/long term visas (employment incl. job-seekers, researchers and academics, family reasons, studies) as well as Working holiday visas (UK residents ONLY)

Please note that the following visa categories can only be applied for with a Visa Application Centres operated by our external service provider TLScontact:

  • All short-tem visitor visa applications for up to 90 days ("Schengen visas", C tourist/visitor/business visas),
  • All airport transit visa applications (A visas),
  • All Blue Card applications (D visas)
  • All internship visa applications (D visas)
  • All applications for employment visas whereas the Federal Employment Agency (“Bundesagentur für Arbeit”) has issued a letter confirming pre-approval (“Vorabzustimmung”) for employment of a named individual with a named company (D Visas).

Visa applications for accompanying family members will also be accepted by TLScontact.

All other categories of visas require an application with the Embassy directly. Appointments may be made here.


  • Please ensure that you have your complete visa application and supporting documentation with you. Missing documents will invariably entail delays and you may be required to book a new appointment.
  • Applicants who have booked their appointment in the wrong category cannot be served and will need to rebook their appointment.
  • If you wish to apply for more than one person at the same time you need to book an appointment for each person.


1. No admittance to the Embassy premises with COVID-19 symptoms or while being subject to self-isolation requirements
You may not enter the Embassy premises if you are displaying any symptoms associated with COVID or if your are subject to self-isolation requirements.

2. No collection of passports
Once processing has been completed we will return your passport to you with Royal Mail’s registered “Special Delivery” service. It is therefore important that you provide us - at the time of application - with a self-addressed and pre-paid "Royal Mail Special Delivery” envelope.

3. No cash payments of fees
Payments can only be made by Credit Card or Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa only). American Express, Diners and Maestro cards as well as digital wallet or mobile payments including Apple Pay or Google Pay are not accepted. You must have the actual card with you. The named card holder must be present to sign the debit voucher.
