This appointment category is only open to applicants in the fast-track application scheme for academic professionals and/or skilled labour. You must hold a fast-track preliminary approval ("Vorabzustimmung im beschleunigten Fachkräfteverfahren") by the local immigration office/foreigners authority ("Ausländerbehörde") in order to be able to book an appointment here.

If you have already found an employer in Germany, you can authorise them to submit a fast-track application (*) for you as a academic professionals and/or skilled worker at the local foreigners authority, i.e. at your future place of work. The foreigners authority will advise your employer and be of assistance in filing an application for recognition of your foreign degree or certificate. The authority is also responsible for obtaining the necessary approval from the Federal Employment Agency.

The authorities and the Federal Employment Agency must make decisions on recognition and approval within certain deadlines. The fee for this procedure is 411 Euros. In addition, there may be fees for the recognition of your degree or certificate.

PLEASE NOTE:

• Please ensure that you have your complete visa application and supporting documentation with you. Missing documents will invariably entail delays and you may be required to book a new appointment.
• Applicants who have booked their appointment in the wrong category cannot be served and will need to rebook their appointment.
• If you wish to apply for more than one person at the same time you need to book an appointment for each person.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR YOUR UPCOMING APPOINTMENT AT THE GERMAN EMBASSY LONDON

1. No collection of passports
Once processing has been completed we will return your passport to you with Royal Mail’s registered “Special Delivery” service. It is therefore important that you provide us - at the time of application - with a self-addressed and pre-paid "Royal Mail Special Delivery” envelope.

2. No cash payments of fees
Payments can only be made by Credit Card or Debit Card (MasterCard and Visa only). American Express, Diners and Maestro cards as well as digital wallet or mobile payments including Apple Pay or Google Pay are not accepted. You must have the actual card with you. The named card holder must be present to sign the debit voucher.
