PLEASE READ and NOTE:

Before you book an appointment, please read the relevant information on the website carefully: Consular Services. If the documentation is incomplete, a new appointment booking and another visit to the office will be required.

Payments can be made by cash, or alternatively, via money transfer (OSKO) if you have downloaded your bank's smartphone app (please check whether your bank offers this service). Please note that we do not accept card payments.

Please do not book an appointment in Melbourne for the following consular matters:

• Life Certificates: please follow the guidelines on your life certificate. There you will find information on who can authenticate your signature and where you have to send the certificate afterwards. A personal interview with us is not required.

• Visa matters of any kind do not fall within our responsibility. You will find detailed information on the different types of visas and the application process following the link to Consular Services mentioned above under the category Visa to Germany.
  If your question in relation to a long-term visa remains unanswered, please get in contact with the German Consulate General in Sydney as the relevant authority.
  In Australia short-term or Schengen visas to Germany are processed by the Austrian Embassy in Canberra. They have outsourced the application process to VFS-Global, where applications must be submitted in person. For further enquiries in relation to Schengen visas, please check the website of the Austrian Embassy in Canberra.
  

If you have any questions, please contact us well in advance of your appointment via email or call us during our specific phone times.

If the booking is successful, you will receive a confirmation by email. This email also contains a link with which you can cancel the appointment and release it for another booking. Please make use of it if you are unable to keep your appointment.
