Myanmar citizens require a valid passport and a visa to enter the Schengen Area, including Germany.

Applicants must submit visa applications at their country of residence. Myanmar citizens living abroad have to apply at the Embassy in the country of residence.

German Embassy Yangon issues visas to applicants living in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Notice: The Embassy cannot accept digitally edited or altered (photoshopped) pictures, neither for passport nor for visa applications.

General information:

- Incomplete applications generally can not be considered - all documents have to be submitted in original plus one photocopy,

- all documents in Myanmar language have to be accompanied by a notarized translation into English

All visa applicants have to present the following documents:

- One application form fully and legibly completed in German or English. The application forms are free of charge. Please note that applications for children under the age of 18 years need to be signed by all persons holding legal custody for the child (usually both parents). Furthermore we need copy of childs birth certificate and passport copies of both parents.

- recent passport picture (separate and not attached/affixed) supporting facial biometrics, size 2’’ by 2’’ or 35 mm by 45 mm

Please do NOT provide photoshopped or otherwise altered photos

- Passport (incl. photocopy of your passport data page) issued within the previous ten years, valid for at least three months beyond the expiry of the visa being applied for. The Passport must contain at least two blank pages.

- Photocopy of your National Registration Card

All fees are payable upon application in USD cash at the prevailing Embassy exchange rate. Please note that this is a processing fee. Fees will not be reimbursed in case applications are being withdrawn or denied. Spouses and unmarried children (under the age of 18 years) of German citizens as well as dependants of other EU nationals are exempt from the payment of visa fees.
