Please make an appointment here if you are residing in California and you wish to have us check

• your declaration to acquire German citzenship (form EER)
• your application for a certificate of citizenship (form F)

Please note:

Several members of the same family may present their declarations/applications during the same appointment.

Please be advised that copies for applications in citizenship matters will be notarized during your appointment. It is therefore not necessary to book a separate appointment for certifications or obtain certified copies by an US notary public in advance

Please note that we do not forward your applications to the Federal Office of Administration. Please mail your applications directly to the following address:

(Please note that this is a post office box so no street name is required).

If you reside outside of California, you can have the copies of your documents certified by a Notary Public. Please make sure that the certifications meet the requirements: merkblatt-kopienbeglaubigung-data.pdf (germany.info)

Please note the following exception for U.S. certificates: no translation or apostille is needed.

• naturalization of former German citizens (German language skills required)
• renunciation of German citizenship

Please note that appointments in this category cannot be used to submit applications for German passports or registering the birth of a child born abroad.
