Please read the relevant information sheets on the website of the Consulate General carefully and submit all necessary documents (originals or notarized copies) at your appointment. Incomplete applications cannot be processed.

Please note that the processing time for issuing a passport without the express fee is up to 6 weeks; by paying an additional express fee the processing time for the applied passport is approximately 2-3 weeks.

 

Regarding children born in China to German or German-foreign parents, it may be necessary to apply first for the registration of the birth of the child or to submit a name declaration before applying for the first passport. If this is your case, please send an e-mail to the Consulate General prior to scheduling a passport-appointment: konsulat@shan.diplo.de

 

Please note:

Change of an address in your passport or on a national ID can be proceeded without an appointment during the regular opening hours of the legal and consular section.

 

Attention:

The scheduled appointment is valid for one person only. You may apply for a passport and/or a national ID with one appointment. If you are planning to apply for passports for several family members the same day, individual appointments must be scheduled for each family member, providing the supporting documents of each applicant; for passport applications for minors, please submit the supporting documents for each child. All passport applicants must appear in person, including minors and infants.

 

Multiple bookings made in advance for the same purpose and appointments scheduled with obviously incorrect information will be canceled by the Consulate General.
