Certifications of a signature
The Legal and Consular section of the Consulate General in Shanghai will only certify signatures on documents and deeds for submitting them in the German legal jurisdiction. Please read the relevant information on this Consulate General’s website.
For a preliminary verification, you may send copies of the relevant documents to this Consulate General’s e-mail-address konsulat@shan.diplo.de.

For the certification of a signature, please submit the following documents:
- Valid passport or German national ID (a Chinese National ID is not sufficient)
- The declaration to be signed
- For declarations of consent (Genehmigungserklärungen): Copy of the deed the declaration is referring to
- For Powers of Attorney (Vollmachten): Draft of the deed the Power of Attorney is referring to
- For commercial register applications (Handelsregisteranmeldungen): relevant corporate resolutions, certificate of incorporation, excerpt from the
- German commercial register etc.
Attention:
In case the signee does not have a sufficient command of the German language, a Chinese translation of the declaration is required and must be
submitted.

Please note:
Due to conflicting legal regulations (money laundering) the Legal and Consular section of the Consulate General is not allowed to certify signatures or identity verifications for banks (except for opening blocked accounts).
Certifications of signatures for more than three documents require an additional appointment. Please mention the number of documents you need certifications of signatures for as reason when scheduling your appointments.
Multiple bookings made in advance for the same purpose and appointments scheduled with obviously incorrect information will be canceled by the Consulate General.
