ATTENTION: A visa application at the Consulate General Toronto is only possible if your main travel destination is Germany or Austria! A visa for travel to other Schengen countries must be applied for at the respective Schengen state.

Appointment to apply for a Schengen visa (short term - up to 90 days stay):

Please read the information provided on our website thoroughly before you make the appointment for the visa application.

If you want to apply for visa for more than one person, please book an appointment for each applicant. Only one application will be accepted at each appointment.

Please make an appointment in this category only if you plan to stay mainly in Germany or Austria (in case the Consulate General issues the visa in representation for Austria) for no longer than 90 days altogether. Please check here for where to apply depending on your place of residence. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days please make an appointment in the "national visa"-category.

When booking your appointment please keep in mind that applications should be handed in 15 days before the intended travel date at the latest. From the day you present your application including all (!) necessary documentation it will usually take approx. 2 weeks until your visa can be issued. In exceptional cases proceedings may take longer than that. Applications will be accepted 6 months before the intended travel date at the earliest.
Attention: In general, the passport remains at the visa section during the ongoing visa procedure.

Please be aware that processing times over the Christmas and New Years' holidays may be up to 10 days longer than usual.

Pick-up of passports is not available.

If you are unable to keep an appointment you have booked please cancel this appointment immediately. Please be advised that this Consulate General reserves the right to deny you further appointments if you do not show for an appointment without cancelling it.

 If you do not receive a confirmation of your appointment booking please also check your e-mail's SPAM folder (sender of the confirmation is noreply@diplo.de).

If you don´t show up to your appointment, you are not able to book an appointment within the next 12 weeks. Exceptions will not be made!
