This category is not for booking visa appointments!

To apply for a German passport or ID-card, you need an appointment. Appointments can only be booked online. You can find detailed information about how to apply for a German passport on our website. Please familiarize yourself with the procedures before making an appointment for your passport application.

You do not need to bring a prepaid return envelope to your appointment. Please be aware that you need to bring one copy per original document as well!

What you need to check before you book an appointment:

If your last name has changed after marriage or divorce, or if you apply for a German passport for a child for the first time, a name declaration might be necessary before the passport application.

Please read the link carefully before you book an appointment to make sure if you need a name declaration first or not! ONLY once the new name/the child's name has been registered and confirmed by the German registrar's office (Standesamt) you can book a passport appointment.

Appointments can only be booked for up to 28 days in advance. New appointment slots are made available daily. If you are not successful in obtaining an appointment right away, please try again later.

We kindly ask for your understanding that you can enter our waiting area only five minutes prior to your appointment. Only the applicant and persons who have legal custody for the applicant will be allowed to enter our waiting area.
