Appointment-System of the German Foreign Office — Hongkong

In order to apply for a visa for Germany you need an appointment. The visa section of the Consulate General in Hongkong is responsible for your application if your habitual residence is in Hongkong or Macao. Applicants from Macao have the possibility to apply at the Portuguese consulate in Macao as they are allowed to issue Schengenvisa on behalf of Germany. Applicants from other places (e.g. Shenzhen) need to apply at their competent visa section https://china.diplo.de/cn-zh. They cannot apply in Hongkong.

The visa application can be submitted at the earliest six (6) months prior to the planned trip. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that his/her application is submitted in time.

The Consulate wishes to inform all applicants with residence in Shenzhen, that solely the German Consulate General in Guangzhou is competent to receive their applications. Applying for your passport in Hong Kong is unfortunately not possible.

Please note that these appointments are reserved for certifying copies and general enquiries. Other consular services (passport applications, legalisations of signatures, birth and marriage registrations etc.) cannot be performed during these appointments.
