Visa Applications

Information on the Visa Procedure can be found here

Incomplete applications cannot be accepted: the application will be returned at no cost and a new appointment has to be scheduled.

Depending on seasonal  demand appointments  may be fully booked quickly and  have to be scheduled far in advance. Experience shows that this occurs in the months of May until September and before national holidays.

Passports

In case you would like to apply for a German passport, please first read carefully the information provided on our website here.

In case you want to apply for the very first German document for a child, it is possible that the child does not carry a family name yet according to German law and a name declaration is required. If you need an appointment for a birth registration/ name declaration or have any questions concerning those matters, kindly write us an email to info@kingston.diplo.de .

Please note that the German Embassy Kingston cannot issue ID-cards. If you would like to apply for a German ID-card, please contact the German Consulate General in Miami.

Certification of photo copies and certification of signatures

In case you need a certified copie of an official document to be used in Germany or you need a confirmation of your signature under a declaration, please first carefully read the information provided on our website here.

Other consular matters

In case you need a life certificate for your German pension, you can come during our opening hours without appointment.

Please note that the Emassy does not legalise Jamaican documents anymore. Since Jamaica has joined the Hague Apostille Convention, Jamaican documents are now accepted with an Apostille stamp in Germany. The Jamaican Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is responsible in administering the Apostille stamp.

In more complicated cases and if you have questions concerning nationality, name or inheritance law, please contact us via email (info@kingston.diplo.de).
