Welcome to the online appointment system of the German Consulate General in Lagos.

To book or register for an appointment is FREE of charge!

Booking / register your appointment will only take a few minutes. Kindly take your time to read the information carefully, as your appointment may be cancelled in case of disregarding the necessary requirements. 

• Each applicant must have a separate booking / registration. Each applicant including minor children needs an appointment.

• In order to avoid any malpractice only one appointment can be booked per person. A new booking can only be allocated after a period of one month.

• In case you can not provide the minimum required documents: fully completed visa application form, 1 passport photograph, passport and the application fee in cash you may be rejected. Only the submission of a complete application with all documents according to our leaflets guarantees a prompt processing of your visa application. You are requested to submit complete documents even if you are a regular visitor to the Schengen states. Please refer to the visa-website of the Consulate General for information on necessary documents.

• You will not be able to attend your appointment if you appear late at the Consulate. We, therefore, advise you to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your appointment at the Consulate.

• Please make your booking well in advance. Visa applications should be handed in at least 15 days ahead of your desired travel time. It is possible to apply for your Schengen visa up to 6 months in advance of your journey.

• The processing time for short-term visa applications will usually take about 15 days after handing in the application. Airport Transit visa applications take about 5 working days, student visa applications up to several months and family reunion visas at least 6 months or longer.

• Booking / register for an appointment can be done fast and conveniently by yourself. This service is offered free of any charge. If desired, an appointment can also be booked / registered by a trusted third party (e.g. the person inviting you or your business partner in Germany etc.).

• Please select the required visa category on the next page. You cannot use your appointment for a different visa category. If you book an appointment for another visa category than actually requested, your appointment will be forfeit.

• You can see vacant appointment dates in the calender view, where you can select and book the desired appointment (either the earliest one or at a later time/date of your own choice). You have to choose a date and a timeframe (e.g. from 09:00 to 09:30 am). It is not possible to get earlier appointments than shown online. Appointment requests by telephone and email will not be answered. Please appear at the Embassy  on time at the beginning of your timeframe (e.g. latest at 9:00 am for a timeframe from 9:00 to 09:30 am). Otherwise entry cannot be granted in order to avoid longer waiting times for the other customers.

• All the required information for the booking process must be entered according to your passport and in latin letters. You have to enter a valid email address and your correct passport number. You will receive a reservation confirmation by email.

• On the day of your appointment, the application can generally only be submitted in person.

In the following step, please select carefully the category of the visa you wish to apply for as your appointment booking will be cancelled if you book the wrong category. Applications with bookings in the wrong category will not be accepted. You can select between:

1. Schengen Visa (short-term stay up to 90 days), i.e. for visit, business or tourism.

2. Immigrant / Long term Visa (staying more than 90 days), i.e. for family reunion or for employment purposes in Germany or study purposes.
