Welcome to the free appointment booking system of the visa office of the German Embassy in Ulan Bator.

To apply for a visa for a long-term stay in Germany (more than 90 days) you need an appointment. The appointment booking system is free of charge, as is the issuance of application forms and checklists. Only the fees for the official act have to be paid. The booking options are the same for all clients; intermediaries or agencies do not have special or preferential access to our appointment system; offers advertising this are not reputable.

Please note that Schengen visa applications can only be submitted through our external service provider VFS. It is no longer possible to hand in application documents for a Schengen visa directly at the visa application centre.

You can submit your visa application for a national visa up to 6 months before the start of your planned trip.

Before booking your appointment, please read the information on your intended purpose of stay carefully. You can find the information as well as additional fact sheets on our website.

Incomplete applications that do not meet the requirements cannot be accepted, the application will be rejected without charge and a new appointment must be made.

Employment with prior approval of the Federal Employment Agency:

If you wish to take up gainful employment in Germany and already have prior approval from the Federal Employment Agency, please contact the visa office of the German Embassy. You will be assigned a separate appointment. The visa office can be reached by mail at

visa-service@ulan.diplo.de.

You can only be admitted to the visa office and submit your application if you have a valid appointment. In addition, you can only be granted admission if your personal passport number is correct. Therefore, we recommend that you only book the appointment yourself.

You can book an appointment for applying for a passport, hand in a declaration of birth or a name declaration, as well as for getting a signature or a copy certified here.
