From Monday 19 January 2026, all Schengen Visa applications will be exclusively handled by our service provider TLS Contact.

TLS Contact is the regional partner of the Federal Foreign Office and is already successfully operating in many African countries.

Thanks to this new arrangement, waiting times will be reduced and you can book your appointment easier and quicker than before. It makes it more convenient for you to get your Schengen visa for your travel to Germany and Europe. Visa application forms and accompanying documents need to be submitted at the TLS Contact German Visa Application Centre, which is centrally located at Maerua Mall (office tower) and accessible for people with physical challenges.

Biometric data collection as well as the delivery of the passport will also take place at the TLS Contact German Visa Application Centre.

The decision to issue or not issue a visa lies as before solely within the responsibility of the German Embassy in Windhoek.

The Embassy continues to represent besides Germany the following six European states: Belgium, Hungary, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands and Switzerland.

What does this mean in practical terms?

1. From 13 January 2026, bookings for appointments for Schengen visa applications can be made only through the TLS Contact website for Namibia: https://visas-de.tlscontact.com/en-us/country/na/vac/naWDH2de 

2. From 19 January 2026, the TLS Contact German Visa Application Centre starts to operate at Maerua Mall (Regus Office Tower, Office Hours: Mon-Fri 08:30 -15:30)

3. A non-refundable service fee of 24,51 Euro (approx. 500 NAD) is applied by TLS Contact German Visa Application Centre additionally to the normal visa fee, that remains unchanged. You can choose a time slot convenient for you and will receive more information about the documents you need to submit during your visit at the TLS Contact German Visa Application Centre. Here you pay also the service fee (card only, no cash) and you finally collect your passport.

NEW: You can apply online for most types of national visas - this is usually the easiest and quickest way for you to apply for a visa. An application in paper is not required anymore.

For an online application, you do not need to book a separate appointment in advance. Once you have submitted the application online, the Embassy will inform you regarding the further procedure. More information on: Homepage - Consular Services Portal
